Skin Cancer and Albinism in Zimbabwe

Due to poor access of sunscreen lotions, protective clothing, and cancer screening  by people with albinism has left many at the mercy of developing cancer. The Albinism Konnect Cancer Support Programme is supporting people with albinism in Zimbabwe fighting skin cancer to get treatment through payment of medical fees, medications and diagnostics. since January 2021 we have assisted 38 people, 12 have beaten Cancer, we lost 8 and the rest are still on treatment. Zimbabwe has 9753 people with albinism, 83% of people with albinism live in the rural area where they are not employed owing to the disadvantages they face in society due to the condition. Many face discrimination, segregation when looking for employment, some due to lack of education they fail to get employment relegating them to vending and farming.

Access to vision aids to children with albinism in school

The Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust is on a drive with Open Society Initiative of Southern Africa  providing Large Font Text books ton help children with albinism in Zimbabwe in Primary School to deal with vision impairment challenges. The Textbooks are printed in large font (Size 20 Century Gothic) which is bieng positively appreciated by the beneficiaries. We will be looking into distributing LED Reading Magnifying glasses to over 200 children in 2023-2024

Due to the worsening economic situation in the country, life for people with disabilities, orphans and vulnerable children and disadvantaged groups has been much harder. Help us help them by contributing to our cause.

We have managed to assist 41 cancer patients through payment of transport medical bills, diagnostics, and medications
